Terminology
Not everyone speaks military.
For a bit of help, here is a quick lo-down on some of the terminology you will find on this site. If you cannot find the term you are looking for, let us know and we can add to this list.

Escape and Evasion. In the real world, this is when you have to hide from the enemy. In the world of Brass Ring Fitness, this is when your workout took too long and now you have to suck it up and work longer and harder. |

Explosive Ordinance Disposal, aka Bomb Squad. |
| Evac |
Evacuate. |
| Extraction |
To remove. To remove yourself from the danger zone, to remove the hostage/victim from the danger zone. Also, the location where you/your team and the hostage/victim are removed from danger. |
| Fire Team |
Small group of special operators. From two to six people working out together. |
| FMP |
Full Mission Profile. A fictitious problem, or real world scenario followed by a gut-kicking workout. |
| Helo |
Helicopter. |
| Hump |
A fast hike with a backpack or a rucksack. |
| Insertion |
How and/or where the mission starts. |
| Mayday |
Radio signal given for a lost/downed/disabled firefighter. Triggers immediate and focused rescue effort by Rapid Intervention Team. |
| RIT |
Rapid Intervention Team: Group of 2-6+ firefighters standing by at all working incidents to perform above rescue with minimal loss of time. |
| Rucksack |
Military-speak for backpack. Usually, it is very sturdy, and able to distribute a great amount of weight safely. Running in a rucksack should add weight, not injury. |
| SAR |
Search and Rescue. |
| SO |
Special Operations. Military SO includes Air Force PJs, Army Special Forces and Rangers, Navy SEALS, Marine Force Recon, and a multitude of other groups of brave warriors. |
| Tango |
The enemy. |
